Twitter is a wonderful community to reach out to others on and engage in meaningful conversations. There are still a few folks who consider Twitter a great place to talk about what they each for lunch and what they do each minute of the day. But those who know how Twitter really works are reaping the benefits of it all. What you can’t do on Twitter (not yet anyway) is create groups and join existing ones. Wouldn’t it be nice if Twitter had an official place where you could join other like-minded tweeters in a group? That may not be possible on Twitter, but it is on Twinester.

The idea behind Twinester is certainly interesting. The service allows you to create your own group and ask other tweeters to join you for targeted discussions. Let’s say you want to talk about Pro Blogging on twitter. You can create a group on Twinester and request others to join you.
The service does have a lot of potential. It’s easy to create groups and join other communities on Twinester. But the flow could be better. It’d also be beneficial if there are more controls available to community owners. It’s more structured in comparison to Twibes but needs a bit of work to get where it needs to go. Nevertheless, if you have an idea for a Twitter community, Twinester is a very simple way to start your own Twitter community. Certainly worth playing with.
