Desktop blogging is one of the best ways to get more blogging done in less time, especially if you own multiple blogs on different platforms. Just thinking about logging in to different platforms to blog everyday makes my head spin. I don’t know about you but I rather focus more on writing good content than dealing with blogging platforms. Thankfully, there are enough good desktop blogging clients out on the market that can help you blog more efficiently and get more done every single day. If you know anything about blogging, you know you can never have enough time.

With that in mind, here are 5 desktop blogging applications that I have tried and can vouch for:

BlogJet: BlogJet is my favorite Windows desktop blogging application. It’s is a premium suite that lets you add videos, images, and upload your files easily without having to log on to your blog. It supports multiple platforms and comes with a Microsoft Word like interface that helps you write more professional quality blog posts.

Ecto: Ecto is one of the oldest and most powerful multi-platform desktop blogging clients around. The Mac version is the best I have ever tried. There used to be a Windows version available as well, but I never had to use it as Ecto for Mac had enough fire power for me.

Windows Live Writer: one of the best free blogging clients for Windows. Microsoft has done a wonderful job developing an application that lets you blog on multiple platforms and get more done in less time. You can easily enhance its capabilities by adding more plugins. The downside is that it’s not compatible with Linux or Mac. But a decent choice for MS Windows Bloggers.

Deepest Sender: Deepest Sender is a blogging client that runs inside Firefox, SeaMonkey, and XULRunner. No matter what your operation system, this client can be run on it as long as you Firefox runs on it as well. Let’s you manage multiple accounts and works with LiveJournal, Blogger, and Wordpress. The crash recovery feature is a plus!

Blogo: Blogo is one of my favorite premium desktop blogging clients. It’s compatible with Wordpress, Blogger, Typepad, Typo, Drupal, Joomla, and Expression Engine. It also lets you easily manage your posts, add videos and photos, and proofread your content. You can continue blogging if when you are offline.
