If you are not familiar with ideablob, it’s a Web 2.0 community for small businesses, start-ups, and entrepreneurs from all walks of life. It’s a great place to network with other entrepreneurs and share and discuss your business ideas. It doesn’t hurt that you can actually win $10,000 if your idea is deemed to be the best by the community. The community is still young and growing. Many entrepreneurs have joined ideablob to get a chance at winning the ultimate prize. I just admit, I joined ideablob for the challenge of it all. While winning $10,00o would be a big plus, it’s not exactly an amount that would make me go out of my way. So while I wanted to win that prize, I wasn’t in it for the money. But I got more from ideablob that I ever thought I would. The community is very dynamic, and lively discussions are going on around all kinds of ideas. Whether you have an idea or just want to see what others are working on, ideablob is a good places to refer to.

Here is how ideablob works. You get to submit your ideas, ask for advice, and leave comments on other people’s ideas. You should then promote your ideas and share them with as many people as you can to get their advice and votes. If you are lucky to have enough votes to win the best idea award, you’ll get $10,000 to take your startup to the next level. The community is designed in a way to help you learn new things and get your game to the next level. The guess advisors provide you with all kinds of useful tips that you can use to put your best foot forward with ideablob.
While I joined the community to win the competition, I started getting into discussions and learned new things along the way. It’s always gratifying to have a chance to network with other entrepreneurs, hear about their challenges, and find out what they are doing right. Sure. The live events, the guest advisors, and all the tools that you get with ideablob helps, but you are going to learn more about entrepreneurship by following the discussions more than you would from most books. And you can always go for the ultimate prize if you got a neat idea. It’s a win win situation.
