How To Add Your Blog Posts To Google Buzz

In case you missed it, Google has introduced a new social networking platform to take on Facebook and Twitter. Google Buzz which sits atop of your Gmail account allows you to connect with your followers, share content with them, and comment on their posts. Your communications happen through your Gmail account, so you won’t miss anybody’s messages ever again. While the jury is still out on Google Buzz, you certainly want to add your other web presences to your Google Buzz account to get a head-start.

Adding your YouTube, Flickr, and other social networking accounts to Google Buzz is not that difficult. You can easily choose the services you want to add to your profile from the list of connected sites available through Buzz interface. But you want to be able to go beyond that and add your blog posts to your Buzz account as well. For that, you are going to do some work. But the steps are simple, so it’s not too much work.

First, you want to log on to your Google Profile. If you haven’t taken time to update your Google Profile lately, you certainly want to do that. But for the purpose of this article, you want to focus on Edit Profile section. On that page, you can add third-party links to your profile. This is where you will need to add your blog URLs. Once you have added your links, you need to log on to your each blog and add the following code to your header (after head tag):

That’s it. When Google crawls your site again, your website will become available in the “connected sites” section in Google Buzz. You can also get the job done by adding your site to Google Webmaster Tools It’s a pretty simple process, but I am sure the process will become even easier as the service improves.
