NewBlur gives you 3 viewing modes to save you time. NewsBlur is highly customizable. You can control the client’s behavior to your heart’s content. It supports various sharing services such as Twitter, Facebook, and Read It Later. Backing up your feeds is super easy too.

What’s nice about NewsBlur is the fact that it lets you import your feeds from Google Reader. Just like Google Reader, this tool shows you the number of stories in your queue and the ones you are yet to read. This is a browser-based client so it works on any platform.

If you are looking for an alternative RSS reader to Google Reader, NewsBlur is well worth checking out. It is fast and highly customizable.

Picfull has various effects you can apply to your photos immediately. The first step is uploading your photo to Picfull. Each effect comes with a bunch of settings you can play with to make further changes to your photos. Once you are done with your photos, just click save and you are set.

Picfull is fast and simple-to-use. You do not have to be a photographer or good with Photoshop to use this. A nice tool to have for quick photo edit jobs.

Puush supports 4 commands. You can capture screenshots of your active applications, full desktop, ot your specified area. Uploading existing screenshots online is easily possible too. Changing the default keyboard combinations is very easy (use Puush settings window). Users can use sound notifications to get alerted upon successful uploads.

Puush is not an earth-shattering piece of software. But it can make handling screenshots on your computer a whole lot easier. It uploads your files and gives you their links to share with the world. It is a pretty neat little app.

NewsBar animates your RSS feeds on your Mac computer. Your RSS feeds sit in one side of your screen and out of your way. Of course, they are only a click away. Newsbar lets you mark your favorite feeds and search through them. Adding new feeds via drag & drop is quite nice. Want to track stories by Keyword? Newsbar can alert you with sound and visual.

NewsBar has smooth animation and is highly customizable. It supports standard RSS feeds. You can use it in a multiple display setting. It did crash on me a couple of times. But has a lot of potential. It would be nice if I could get this for Windows though.

All you have to do is grab the BookmarkQ button (see the above image) and drop it on to your browser’s bookmarks toolbar. In order to create links to a certain part of a website, just select the part, and click on the button you added to your toolbar. BookmarkQ automatically provides you with a link to that very part.

CSS Pivot can be a wonderful tool to try the new things you have learned about CSS on your site. When you save your pivots, this tool will provide you with a custom link you can share with others.

Here is the fun part about CSS Pivot: it actually does not change your code. So while you see the CSS changes on your browser, no one else is seeing it (unless they are using your custom URL). A pretty neat tool to test your CSS code without having to disturb your visitors.

We all love apps and extensions for the devices and tools that we use. Just like water, having too many apps or extensions installed could have a negative effect. Take Firefox for instance. There are a ton of extensions available for this software application. But some of those extensions can make your browser slow and make you less productive (depending on your OS platform). The good news is you can find a list of troublesome extensions on Mozilla.org.

Extensions such as the one from Delicious may look harmless but combined with other extensions, they could end up breaking Firefox for good. Of course, some extensions work worse on Windows than they do on Mac. Your operating system does matter.

Firefox and Chrome are great browsers that can make us all more productive and enhance our surfing experience. But installing more than a couple of decent extensions is a no no. Extensions do eventually slow down your browser, making your web experience more painful. You should keep up with the above lists if you are having issues with your Firefox.
