If you do that for a couple of months, you are going to end up with a significant number of blog posts. Not all blog posts become outdated after a couple of months. That means you can still promote them on your favorite social sites. Depending on the topics you are writing about, you may be able to repost your slightly older posts to the front-page of your blog to get them more attention. Old Post Promoter is a handy WordPress plugin that lets you do that.

Old Post Promoter comes handy in many situations. Maybe you are planning to take a long trip but want to give your visitors the chance to read some of the older posts they may have missed. It lets you choose a cut off date for your older posts. You certainly do not want to promote posts that are more than a couple of weeks old. What’s nice about this plugin is the fact that you can choose the position in which your older posts get moved to.

You should not use this plugin if you display dates in your permalink structure. To get the best out of this plugin, you should add your time-less posts to a certain category and only push those to the front-page of your blog. Overall, this is a pretty neat tool to make your blog feel fresh if you are not around for a short while and can’t find other people to cover for you.

Start Selling Your E-Products with Publisher for WordPress

Wordpress
<guid

If you are not doing that already, you should start now. Most bloggers are obsessed with their search engine rankings. While adding alt tags to your images won’t increase your chances of getting ranked higher in the search engines, like it used to, it is still a best practice worth paying attention to. This is very hard to implement for large blogs with a ton of images but almost zero alt tags. SEO Friendly Images is a powerful plugin that saves you time adding ALT tags to all your images.

Your ALT attributes should describe your images. You do not want to use these to spam the search engines. SEO Friendly Images can handle title attributes for your images too. It has 4 special tags you want to get yourself familiar with to optimize your attributes.

<img

For starters, it can make your website’s code W3C compliant. It may give you a small SEO benefit (very small). ALT attribute hold more weight than image titles. But don’t use them to stuff keywords on your site. All in all, SEO Friendly Images is a time-saving tool for people with a ton of images on their sites with no ALT attributes.

Protect Your Blog with BulletProof Security

Wordpress
<guid

Twitter has helped me drive more traffic to my sites and take my business to the next level. Most bloggers would tell you that Twitter is a great traffic driver for them as well. Most bloggers tweet their own posts to drive traffic to them and help them go viral. There is nothing wrong with that practice as long as you do not spam your Twitter account. You certainly want to share the top content produced by other folks as well.

When I joined Twitter, I already had hundreds of blog posts written on my sites. Like most bloggers, I started sharing only my new posts. But some of my older posts deserved some attention too. Tweeting older posts can be tricky. You do not want to post an ancient article. But you may have articles on your website that are still relevant today. Tweet Old Post is a handy plugin that lets you share your top older posts with your Twitter followers.

All you have to do is provide this plugin with your Twitter username, hashtags, and your post frequency. The rest is taken care of by this script. In order to make sure only your top content is retweeted, you may want to create a special category for this plugin only. That way you can exclude older post from getting tweeted. You also want to make sure you define a reasonable number as the maximum allowed age for your tweetable posts.

Need to exclude specific posts from your “tweetable” posts? This plugin allows you to do just that. In order to avoid turning off your Twitter followers, you want to set a conservative limit on the number of posts you tweet from your blog each day.

Tweeting your older posts can breathe new life to your older content and help you gain more readers and followers. Thanks to Tweet Old Post, you can put this idea to the test.
