Not only has he managed to inspire folks in more ways than one, he has managed to even convince a lot of his detractors about his ability to lead a nation as powerful as the United States. Now, I do not know if Barack’s going to win this coming election (I hope he does), but it’s really beside the point. New bloggers can ton a lot by looking at Barack Obama and his rise to stardom.

In just a short period of time Barack has risen from a virtually unknown politician to one of the most prominent figures around the world. When you hear folks in small countries talking about Barack Obama, you know he is doing something right. So here is what I have learned by watching this brilliant communicator do his magic:

You’ve got to have the right message

Why is Barack Obama so successful at mobilizing people and changing folks’ minds? It’s simple. He has found that perfect message to communicate with his supporters. When he talks about issues, he connects with folks. Is he the most knowledgeable person when it comes to issues facing the American people? Perhaps not, but he knows what people want and addresses issues that matter to folks. New bloggers can learn from this approach by figuring out what it is that their audience is looking for. Just go where it matters. It’s not about what’s in it for you but what’s in it for your audience.

You’ve got to have a tough skin

Mr. Obama has faced many challenges during the 2008 campaign. He may end up losing it in the end, but so far he has performed brilliantly. Why? It’s simple. He has a tough skin. He doesn’t get rattled when things get tough, and he doesn’t rush into things as McCain and his other rivals have in the past. Blogging is very similar. You can’t get discouraged by challenges. By looking at Obama’s campaign, you can see all the hard work that his supporters have gone through to make folks want to vote for their guy. Superstars make things look easy, but in truth, nothing comes easy in life. The sophistication of the organization Obama and his campaign have built for this election is simply astounding. They have tested different messages, they have pushed the envelop in states that Democrats usually do not win. They’ve done it all. Bloggers should not assume that things come easy in the blogging world nor should they get discouraged by seeing the road ahead. If you have a vision, and you are dedicated to achieving it, the sky’s the limit.

The key to success in the blogging world is the dedication to learn from others’ mistakes and successes. If you are dedicated to learn and you are willing to work hard on yourself and your business, there is no reason you can’t become the next blogging superstar. It’s going to be tough, but for the rare few who make it, the rewards justify it all.
